Doing Business with Athens

Athens strives to ensure that the community receives the maximum value for every dollar spent by the City and that all expenditures are conducted in a manner that preserves public trust.  Your involvement as a provider of goods and services for the City is critical in meeting its operational, mission, and service delivery requirements.  

Bids and Request for Proposals/Qualifications

For any goods or services that must be competitively procured, the City of Athens will post a Bid Solicitation, Request for Proposals (RFP), or Request for Qualifications (RFQ) on this webpage.  Any procurements over $50,000 must be awarded by a vote of the City Council.  Additionally, the City will also post requests for interested entities to submit pricing quotes for certain procurements.

Register as a Vendor

Athens encourages any entity that is interested in doing business with the City to register as a vendor.  Registering enables the city to have important paperwork on file in the event the vendor conducts business with the City.  Additionally, the City can proactively notify registered vendors of upcoming or active procurement opportunities.
